Energy Efficient Works - Technical Specifications and Considerations

All works must be undertaken by an SEAI registered Contractor in accordance with the technical requirements set out in the Contractor Code of Practice and Technical Specification. The table below sets out the summary performance requirements, however you are strongly advised to consult with your appointed Contractor for details, noting that homeowners cannot unilaterally waive any of the scheme requirements.

MeasureSummary Requirement
InsulationAttic InsulationCeiling Level: Target U-Value ≤ 0.16 W/m2K
Rafter Level: Target U-Value ≤ 0.20 W/m2K
Wall Insulation - CavityNSAI Agrément certified system
Target U-Value ≤ 0.27 W/m2K
Wall Insulation - ExternalNSAI Agrément certified system
Target U-Value ≤ 0.27 W/m2K
Wall Insulation - Internal Dry LiningTarget U-Value ≤ 0.27 W/m2K
Internal and external wall insulation grants are not single grant amounts but rather different grant levels will apply depending on the applicant’s house type.
