The grant is provided to the Dealer and the benefit is passed on to the Consumer as a price reduction on the vehicle. The Grant Application Form will be prepared by the Dealer and all costs will be detailed for the Customer, both the Dealer and the Customer will sign the form. The Customer pays the deposit for the vehicle to the Dealer.
Both the Application Form and a copy of the invoice/deposit for the vehicle order will be submitted to SEAI. Once everything is in correct, a Grant Offer will issue to the Dealer after which point the vehicle will be ordered by the Dealer. If for whatever reason the Grant Offer is refused, the Customer will be entitled to a full refund of the deposit amount from the Dealer.
Once the vehicle arrives, the Customer will pay the remaining balance of the cost of the vehicle to the Dealer. The Customer will become the owner of the vehicle and must immediately Tax and Insure the vehicle for road use. Failure to Tax the vehicle within the period of offer of the Grant will result in the Grant being cancelled.
