Overview: Due to Geoffrey’s job, the Brennans wouldn’t be Ireland’s average family when it comes to energy and appliance usage - Geoffrey Brennan, is a Building Controls Engineer and has a background in temperature controls. Bringing the workplace into the home, the Brennan household is fully zoned and has extremely good insulation. However, even with all this technology, the Brennan’s energy bills were high and they were keen to learn how they can change their behaviour in order to save energy, and money! The Brennan’s used their modern heating system to lower the temperature in their bedroom and hallway from 21 to 18 Degrees Celsius. They also lowered the temperature in bedrooms and rooms not being used to 16 Degrees Celsius. Because they had adjusted the temperatures in different rooms they always kept the internal doors closed |
