The Horler family

Co. Sligo

Residents:                        Five - two parents and three young children
House:                              Detached, built in 2004; cavity wall construction

Overview:

The Horler couple already had their hands full with 3 young children and very busy schedules. Their biggest challenge was finding ways to use the heating system in their house to efficiently heat the areas of the house they use the most and combat losing heat from the turbulent wind patterns outside. The multi-tasking Horlers found a way to deal with the additional tasks of the challenges.

The Horler’s adjusted their central heating timer settings so it only came on for as long as they needed it in the mornings and they controlled it manually in the evenings rather than leaving the heating on all of the time.
