Ocean Energy Industry Forum
The Ocean Energy Industry Forum meeting was held in Dublin on Tuesday 21st of April 2009. The meeting was addressed by the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Mr. Eamon Ryan T.D. where he launched the Industry Association (MRIA).
For a number of years the Marine Institute and SEAI have convened a forum meeting of the various interests in the Ocean Energy field. The sector has developed significantly in recent years and there have been a number of key developments. With the formation of the MRIA the responsibility for the industry forum will move to the association.
Industry Association (MRIA)
The Industry Association (MRIA) was formally launched by Minister Ryan at the Industry Forum held on April 21st. It was set up to represent the interests of the businesses in Ireland engaged in the development of Wave and Tidal Energy technologies and projects. Researchers and Agencies engaged in this sector are also involved with MRIA. The Association’s Council meets bi monthly and relationships are being developed with all of the other players in the field.
