SEAI in partnership with a number of Discover Centres and Local Authorities throughout Ireland delivers workshops to primary schools during the academic year. Go to the map below, find out if there’s a Centre near you and contact them to request a workshop which are free of charge to primary schools in ROI, subject to availability. If you are unsure as to which centre covers your local area, please contact Global Action Plan who administer the overall workshop programme. There are two types of workshops:
- Junior Primary “Guzzler” workshop: ‘Guzzler’ the puppet will teach children about energy efficiency and environmental awareness through participation in a range of games and activities. Suitable for senior infants, 1st and 2nd class pupils. See the workshop in action.
- Senior Primary “Energy Challenge” workshop: The workshop is interactive, curriculum based and cover the principals of energy, the current global problems and what we can do to help. Students learn about the science of energy and climate change through participation in experiments and playing the 'energy game'. All round they are very hands on and fun. Suitable for 3rd to 6th class pupils. See the workshop in action.
