How to become a listed Training Provider

Training providers that wish to have a BER training programme listed on this website should send the following information to BER Training, SEAI, Wilton Park House, Wilton Place, Dublin 2:

1. A letter to SEAI on headed notepaper signed by an authorised signatory indicating:

(a) Acceptance of the "Specification for Assessor Training Programme for Building Energy Rating (BER) of Dwellings" dated September 2008, and confirming that all programmes will be run in accordance with this specification;
(b) The name of the National Accreditation body that authorises you to provide a BER Assessor's training programme;
(c) The name of the body that will confer the BER assessment award to learners who have completed your programme; and
(d) The level of the award, as recognised under the National Framework of Qualifications, issued on successful completion of the programme.

2. An outline of your processes and procedures that assure compliance with the various obligations set out in the training specification
3. A copy of your documented procedure for determining equivalence and for recognising prior learning
4. A list of all your trainers outlining their Level 8 Award and the date when they achieved 85% or more in the national BER examination
5. A copy of your BER training programme material
6. Confirmation that you will prominently quote in all your marketing and promotional material the most recent Assessor numbers (the total number of BER Assessors registered and the total number of people who have completed BER Assessor training programmes)and will update this information monthly. The Assessor numbers updated data is given in the Monthly Status Report on the SEAI website.

7. Complete the Training Providers Information Form (TRO2) and return to info@ber.seai.ie .
