Energy Management

What is energy management?
  • Energy management is an all-encompassing system of management and control for energy in your business.
  • Companies should apply a structured approach to energy management as experience shows there is a clear sequence of events that brings the best result.
  • Any organisation, whether introducing energy management for the first time or upgrading its existing efforts, needs to be aware of this sequential approach and adapt its activities accordingly.

Emissions Trading

The emissions trading scheme started on 1st January 2005 and places a value on greenhouse gas emissions (e.g. carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide) by obliging participants to acquire emissions 'allowances'. For more information visit the EPA website.

Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) Licensing

If your site is involved in large-scale or complex processes, (industrial or other), with significant polluting potential, you are required to have an Integrated Pollution Control (IPC) licence.

Achieve your business objectives at minimum energy cost

  • Companies who have committed resources to energy management see savings of 10-20% in the first year.
  • SEAI's structured approach to energy management delivers these initial savings, sustain them in following years and delivers further savings in energy usage per unit of output every year into the future.
