Annual Energy Statement

Every public body is legally obliged to publish an annual statement describing the actions it is taking, or has taken, to improve its energy efficiency and an assessment of the energy savings arising from those actions (Regulation 5(5), SI 426 of 2014). The format of the statement is specified by SEAI.

Public bodies have saved over €1.86 billion on energy spend and avoided 6.07 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions since 2009. The public sector exceeded its 33% energy efficiency improvement target by 2020.
