Project Description

Efforts to modernise energy systems are often delayed by a lack of information on regional energy demand. This includes district heating, building refurbishment and upgrade, and transport electrification projects which require consistent, accurate and timely data on the characteristics (i.e. size, type, distribution) of related demand. During this research project, multidisciplinary partners from three countries will develop and standardise a digital monitoring and reporting system which can be used across distinct regions and aligned with existing decision-making processes. To do so, the project partners will work with a network of front-line energy planning experts ('Need-Owners') who will utilise REDAP to make decisions which will affect the lives of millions of citizens. This includes Codema, Dublin's energy agency (Ireland), the City of Gothenburg Council (Sweden), and the Energy Agency of the Regions (Austria).
