Wind Farm Asset Management and ISO 55001 Report Launch

Wednesday, May 19, 2021 10:00 am

SEAI and Wind Energy Ireland are delighted to invite you to the launch of our report:

Wind Farm Asset Management and ISO 55001
Maximising the Return on Wind Energy Investments

In 2020 SEAI collaborated with Wind Energy Ireland to scope and fund a report on adopting Asset Management principles, as laid out in the ISO 55001 standard, within the Irish wind industry.

In coming to maturity, it will be important that the wind industry adopts best practices to maximise the return on the capital employed in the sector.

The asset management approach is a strategic, organisation-driven, initiative to maximise the return on investment across projects’ life cycles. It inherently requires the commitment of senior management to be successfully implemented within a company’s strategy. It is not solely the responsibility of the operations function but must span the company’s whole value chain.

The ISO 55001 standard provides the conceptual frameworks which underpin the development of company asset management strategy. It is also coherent with other ISO standards including ISO 15001 on Environmental Management and ISO 45001 on Health and Safety. The principles of the standard may be practically applied irrespective of whether a company is seeking formal accreditation or not.

The report launch will be hosted as a webinar because of COVID 19 restrictions. Presentations will provide insights of the importance of adopting an asset management approach for wind farms and give an overview of the pathway towards this. Training courses will be provided within the Green Tech Skillnet to support implementation of an asset management regime by wind energy companies.

*Note: Please register for this event to allow us to ensure that everyone is accommodated.
