The Board, CEO and entire staff of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland express their sincere condolences to Margie and her children Grainne, Fergal and Aoife on the recent passing of Brendan Halligan, who was Chair of the Authority for 7 years in the period from 2007-2014.

Peter Brennan, Senior Independent Board Member, on behalf of the Board and the Executive, said “During his tenure, Brendan, as Chairperson of the Authority, provided vital strategic direction to the organisation, through a period of consolidation and significant development. He was a champion of the credentials of the Authority and enhanced its reputation and stature as a key stakeholder and policymakers in the national sustainable energy agenda. This leadership provided the groundwork for the subsequent substantial growth in the scope and remit of SEAI, as a key national strategic organisation. Throughout his term with SEAI, Brendan applied himself, as he did throughout his life, with absolute enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism. SEAI is a better organisation having benefitted from his leadership, contribution and service.”
