The SEAI Governance procedures are set out in the SEAI Code of Governance Framework which is reviewed by the Board on an annual basis.

Governance of State Bodies

The Board of SEAI is committed to the process of transparency and the promotion of ethical standards. The Board has a leadership role in ensuring that the highest standards of Governance and Ethics operate at Board level and across the organisation. SEAI was the first organisation in Europe to be awarded SWiFT 3000 certification by the National Standards Authority of Ireland and has maintained that certification since 2011.

This process is an independent external review of the corporate governance policies and procedures  in the organisation to ensure overall compliance with the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies.

The following policies are included in the document:

  • Code of Business Conduct for Board Members
  • Conflict of Interest Policy
  • Protected Disclosures Policy and Procedure and
  • Anti-Fraud Policy

SEAI complies with competitive tendering, as outlined in State Body and Government Public Procurement guidelines, as the basis of its’ Procurement Policy and the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies. SEAI has procedures in place to ensure compliance with current procurement rules and guidelines. All National and EU contract award notices are available on E-Tenders website under Notice Search and by searching through published awards and selecting SEAI.
