Project Description

The Sea View Systems wave sensor device will be evaluated and compared side by side to an AXYS Technologies Triaxys and a Datawell Waverider. The stability of the JFC Marine data buoy will be evaluated as a wave sensor platform, together with a low power marine real time operating system – reducing the need for high maintenance wind turbines, reducing solar and battery requirements and associated costs over that traditionally required. The project proposes R&D of several novel marine technologies that will optimise communications bandwidth, provide detailed notification of collisions to marine systems, 3D desktop visualisation of articulating marine data platforms, a mobile SMS alerting system to send alerts of critical remote events requiring shore response, and a polygon based watch area algorithm to allow complex areas to be monitored.
