Located in SEAI’s Hub at the centre of the exhibition, these 30-minute sessions will provide you with key information from SEAI Experts on important topics for any business interested in energy saving and sustainability. This stage is located on the main exhibition floor in Hall 1 and does not require pre-booking, just drop in and take a seat!

The four regional winners of the EV Dealership Awards will have a panel discussion on their insights in the EV sector. They will look at the benefits and challenges of electrification of the national fleet.  The National Winner will also be announced.

Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) Recast Update 

The revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) aims to increase the rate of renovation in buildings across Europe. May 2026 is the deadline for the introduction of the recast EPBD into national law. 

As a result, Ireland will see an update to the BER scale and the introduction of building renovation passports, amongst other measures aimed to drive building decarbonisation. This talk will explain the changes and give an overview of the opportunities for assessors and those working in the energy sector.

Support for Small-scale Renewable Electricity Generation

With the expansion of the Small-Scale Renewable Electricity Support Scheme to export projects including farmers and community groups in 2025, this seminar will initially focus on the outcomes and learnings from these changes to the scheme. Further, an update on the Non-Domestic Microgen Grant will also be provided, which has continued strongly across 2025 with a significant number of applications and grants to the scheme. Finally, the pathway to applying for these supports will be detailed alongside any changes or updates to the schemes that are upcoming.

Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) Recast Update 

The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) entered into force in all EU countries in May 2024. The EPBD aims to increase the rate of renovation in buildings across Europe. Next month, May 2026, is the deadline for the introduction of the EPBD into national law. 

As a result, in 2026 Ireland will see an update of the BER scale and the introduction of building renovation passports, amongst other measures aimed to drive building decarbonisation. This talk will give an overview of the opportunities and challenges of the EPBD as well as the upcoming requirements.

With over two decades of expertise, she is a respected industry voice, regularly contributing to RTÉ, Virgin Media, and the BBC on motoring and consumer affairs. As founder and editor of Wheels for Women - Ireland’s first automotive platform for women - she champions a more inclusive, sustainable, and safety-focused approach to mobility.  

Geraldine will be presenting the EV Dealership Awards on Wednesday 22nd April at 11am.

Ronan Synott

Programme Executive with Better Energy Homes Team, SEAI

Ronan is a Programme Executive within SEAI's Better Energy Homes Programme for the past 4 years. He is the technical lead and looks after Quality Management for the Programme. Ronan was part of the project team that delivered the recent changes to the grants on the Better Energy Homes Programme

The company maintains a state-of-the-art service centre to support its vehicle sales operations which include a CVRT test centre, crash repair centre and offers 24/7 breakdown recovery. Doyle's Garage emphasizes comprehensive customer service and quality vehicle offerings. The business has now expanded and built a brand new second showroom and service centre for our MG Dealership which is located on the Old Dublin Road, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, and is now the home to MG for the South East.

Eleanor Scott

Programme Executive - Public Affairs and Communications (EPBD), SEAI

Eleanor Scott leads communication and stakeholder engagement for the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) at the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). Eleanor brings extensive experience in stakeholder engagement in the building sector, with previous experience in climate policy and communications within EU institutions and the non‑governmental sector. 

Eleanor will be presenting on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) Recast Update at 2pm on Wednesday 22nd April and Thursday 23rd April

Georgina Molloy

Programme Manager - EPBD Concerted Action, SEAI

Georgina Molloy is programme manager for energy performance of buildings directive (EPBD) implementation with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). She is also the central team leader of one of the eight teams that lead EPBD concerted action at EU level. She is a chartered engineer with over 20 years' experience in design consultancy, contracting and in the public sector.

Georgina will be presenting on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) Recast Update at 2pm on Wednesday 22nd April and Thursday 23rd April

Gary O'Sullivan

Programme Manager - Embodied Carbon, SEAI

Gary O’Sullivan is the programme manager for Embodied Carbon with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). He is responsible for the development of a life-cycle GWP calculation methodology to meet the requirements of Article 7(2) of the recast EPBD. He has extensive experience in certification of construction products against the CPR along with Agrément certification of innovative construction products.

Giorgio Garino

Programme Coordinator for Life‑Cycle Carbon in Building

Giorgio Garino is Programme Coordinator for Life‑Cycle Carbon in Buildings at SEAI, guiding the development of Ireland’s national methodology for whole‑life GHG emissions and a new database of construction materials carbon factors. He works across policy, legislation, and industry to embed carbon metrics into Ireland’s decarbonisation framework.

Giorgio will be presenting on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) Recast Update at 2pm on Wednesday 22nd April and Thursday 23rd April.

Brian McIntyre

Programme Manager - High Performance Buildings Technologies, SEAI

Brian McIntyre is Programme Manager for High Performance Building Technologies on the Deep Retrofit Pilot Programme with 20 years’ experience in the Energy sector. He joined SEAI in 2017 and has worked across different grant programmes. He had previously worked in the private sector providing energy consultancy services to private and public sector clients, including to SEAI across the public sector, SME, RD&D and residential grant programmes.

Brian will be presenting at The Importance of Ventilation session at 3pm on Thursday 23rd April.

Colm Martin

Programme Manager, EXEED, SEAI

EXEED Programme Manager – Colm has over 20 years' international experience in management & business development of energy efficiency & renewable energy systems.   This has included promotion & training, as well as design & implementation.  With an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Colm has been ExEED programme  manager over the last year.

Colm will be presenting on EXEED Scheme Updates on Thursday 23rd April at 11am

Jason Sheridan

Programme Executive - EXEED, SEAI

Jason has multiple years of experience within the energy & sustainability sectors across both private and public organizations. In SEAI, he accelerates energy efficiency and decarbonisation among Irish industry through the Excellence in Energy Efficiency Design (EXEED) programme. The EXEED programme provides training, funding support and certifications for industry energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects. He has a BSc in Environmental Science and MSc in Sustainable Energy & Green Technologies.

Jacqueline Morgan

Programme Executive - EXEED, SEAI

Jacqueline brings over 30 years of architectural experience and sustainable design across Ireland, Europe, Asia and Australia, to EXEED. Specialising in energy-efficient building design, high performance envelopes, and renewable energy solutions. Jacqueline has a deep understanding of the international best practices in sustainable construction, through LEED and Greenstar programmes. Responsible for successfully delivering major renovations for the commercial, retail, industrial, workplace strategy, residential, education and health sectors, for public and private clients.

Patrick Donoghue

Programme Executive - EXEED, SEAI

With a background in Process and Chemical Engineering, Patrick has joined the SEAI EXEED team from the industrial energy consultancy and energy management sector. They have gone through numerous EED processes for projects across the globe on major energy upgrades, greenfield, and brownfield sites covering pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food/dairy manufacturing, and petrochemical industries. 

Patrick will be presenting on EXEED Scheme Updates on Thursday 23rd April at 11am.

Kevin Donovan

Energy Manager - Roadstone

Kevin Donovan, Energy Manager Roadstone Ltd, CRH, began working in the Quarrying Industry in 1999. Initially as Clogrennane Lime Environmental Manager, Kevin developed the Environmental Management System in accordance with the IPPC Licence at the facility. In 2004 Kevin became the Environmental Manager for Roadstone Ltd, implementing ISO 14001 in Locations throughout Ireland. In 2007 Kevin developed with the SEAI a strategy for implementation of I.S. 393 at Roadstone. Roadstone has now accreditation to ISO 50001 at 23 Locations throughout the country and the Transport Division. Kevin Donovan also Lectures the module Energy Management Principles and Practice at TU Dublin, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Kevin Donovan is a Certified Energy Manager and lifetime membership at the AEE.

Madhu Murali

Programme Executive - SSRH, SEAI

Madhu is a Programme Executive supporting the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat, a programme aimed at decarbonising non-domestic heating in Ireland through a biomass tariff scheme and a heat pump grant scheme. Prior to working at SEAI, Madhu worked as a researcher on industrial waste heat recovery.

Luke Fagan

Programme Executive - Business Supports, SEAI

Luke Fagan is a Programme Executive on the SME Business Supports team at SEAI, leading on the SEAI Energy Academy. The Energy Academy is SEAI’s national training platform dedicated to advancing energy efficiency and sustainable energy across Ireland. It provides free, accessible learning for businesses, public sector organisations and individuals, covering topics such as energy management, behavioural change and energy upgrades. The platform includes certified courses and practical guidance designed to educate and empower learners to understand, adopt and apply sustainable energy practices in their organisations and communities.

Luke will be presenting at the Business Supports Clinic on Wednesday 22nd April and Thursday 23rd April at 12pm

Anna Rourke

Programme Executive - Electric Vehicles

Anna has experience working in the environment and energy policy sector for over 9 years. Before joining SEAI, she worked for Commission of Regulation of Utilities for over four years where she contributed to regulatory and customer protection initiatives. Currently a Programme Executive on the Electric Vehicles team, Anna supports the delivery of initiatives that advance Ireland's transition to cleaner transport and a low-carbon economy.

Anna will be presenting at the Business Supports Clinic on Wednesday 22nd April and Thursday 23rd April at 12pm.

Aoife Hamill

Process Engineering Director, NIRAS Ireland

Aoife Hamill is the Process Engineering Director of the Food and Beverage division of NIRAS Ireland, where she works on a variety of process and utilities projects in the pharmaceutical, brewing and beverage industries.

Aoife is a chemical engineer and holds an MSc in Renewable Energy and Energy Management, an IBD Distilling Diploma and is an AEE Certified Energy Auditor. Energy efficiency and sustainability have long been core areas of activity. She has published two research projects funded by the Irish EPA, which investigated industrial CO2 recovery and reuse to reduce emissions and the most efficient treatment of distillery co-products, respectively. 

Aoife has extensive experience in technical project engineering across process and utilities plants in the manufacturing sector. In addition to this, she has fulfilled the role of energy efficient design (EED) expert across several large projects in the pharmaceutical and beverage sectors and has supported clients in the EXEED funding process. 

Aoife will be speaking at the EXEED Scheme Updates Session at 11am on Thursday 23rd April
