Learn about the support and training you get with EXEED, as your business embarks on an energy efficient design project.

What makes the EXEED process different?

With EXEED, you get support to truly look at your energy use in a holistic way. The programme helps organisations achieve optimum energy performance. We do this by incorporating an energy efficient design (EED) process when designing new or upgrading buildings, facilities and processes.

The feasibility stage of EED involves completing:

  • Project plan: Set out objectives for your project and align them with organisational context.
  • Energy balance study: Identify how much energy the existing or planned facility/process used, particularly the significant energy users (SEU).
  • Challenge and analyse: Workshops to challenge each SEU and identify design measures to drive decarbonisation.
  • Energy savings register: Define the energy savings, carbon savings, costs and risks of each new design measure.

When to get started with EXEED

Engage as early as possible. The earlier you consider energy efficiency in the design stage, the greater the opportunity. It's a chance to challenge the typical approach, investing upfront to save in the future. Up to 50% more CO2 savings are identified using the structured EXEED process.

Training and mentorship

We offer regular free training and mentorship for all companies engaged with the EXEED process, including:

  • Energy efficient design training sessions open to all stakeholders
  • In-depth mentorship for real ongoing projects

Training helps you establish practical approaches to adopt the best approach for your design project. Identifying measures for decarbonisation and energy saving is at the core of the training.
