Electric Vehicle Charging in a driveway

SEAI are aware of an issue with delayed delivery of vehicles and that it may have an impact on the installation of some home chargers. If you are experiencing these delays with your vehicle, we would encourage you not to apply for a Home Charger grant until you know for definite the delivery date of your vehicle. The Home Charger grant will be available in 2022 with the present terms and conditions.

The scheme provides a grant up to the value of €600 towards the purchase and installation of a home charger unit. To receive payment, you must produce ownership evidence of an eligible new or second-hand electric vehicle (EV) but you can also apply and install or your charger ahead of receiving the vehicle.
