SEAI has commissioned independent research to understand the real-world hurdles Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) face in complying with EU Energy labelling and Ecodesign regulations.

Overview

Navigating the complex EU energy regulations can be challenging for businesses. We want to change that. SEAI has commissioned independent research to understand the real-world hurdles SMEs face in complying with EU Energy labelling and Ecodesign regulations. We are looking for real feedback on what works and what doesn’t, and how we can make our support easier to access.

Why are we conducting this research?

As energy regulations evolve, SEAI wants to ensure that SMEs are not just compliant, but supported. This research project aims to identify the hurdles businesses face when navigating EU energy labelling and ecodesign requirements and to discover how we can better support businesses in achieving compliance.

Key areas of focus

Through this survey, we aim to:

  1. Identify challenges: pinpoint the specific barriers SMEs face in complying with energy labelling and ecodesign regulations.
  2. Evaluate awareness: Understand how familiar businesses are with compliance supports from the MSA and others.
  3. Improve engagement: Determine the most effective ways to communicate with and provide resources to busy business’s teams.
