Comprehensive Assessment of the Potential for Efficient Heating and Cooling every 5 years. Following on from the previous Comprehensive Assessment published in 2020, this 2025 assessment provides updated data inputs, assumptions and analysis, reflective of the latest available datasets and methodologies, and developments in heating and cooling in Ireland in the intervening years. More broadly this report examines the current heating and cooling demand and supply in Ireland and develops scenarios to understand the economic potential of different outcomes over the period 2025-2055, while recognising Ireland’s legal commitments to climate neutrality by 2050. Finally, the report summarises key policy areas where Ireland needs to go further to achieve the economic potential identified and decarbonise heat across the economy. -
