FAQs

  • What is the difference between a Task and an Annex?

Tasks and Annexes are used interchangeably depending on the TCP. Essentially, they have the same meaning and are terms used to represent groups of researchers working to achieve a common goal/work programme through the IEA TCPs.

  • Can I apply for multiple Tasks in the same or different TCPs?

Yes, you can apply for multiple Tasks and apply for Tasks in different TCPs. We ask that you submit a separate application for each Task that you are applying to.

  • I would like to join a Task/Annex that isn’t listed in the priority list in the call document. Can I apply to any Task/Annex?

For this mid-year call, applications are being sought only for the Tasks/Annexes identified in the priority list.

If you are interested in other Tasks/Annexes, you will have an opportunity to apply through the main annual call later in the year, which will have a broader scope.

  • I am interested in applying for a Task/Annex in a TCP which Ireland does not currently participate in. Can I apply for this Task/Annex in the call?

This mid-year call is focused on supporting participation in existing priority Tasks/Annexes within TCPs where Ireland is already involved. Please refer to Table 1 for the full list.

However, SEAI is continuously exploring new areas of strategic relevance. If you are interested in participation in a new TCP or Task/Annex, you may submit an Expression of Interest to [email protected] for consideration outside of this call process.

  • What is expected of me if I am successfully appointed to be a Task/Annex participant?

If you are appointed as a participant, we ask that you represent Ireland through attending Task/Annex meetings for the three years of your appointment. We ask you to report back to SEAI on those meetings and to provide an annual report on the progress of the task and future work.

We may also ask you to support us to identify information that can be shared on the SEAI website or through our networks relating to the IEA TCPs or any interested parties nationally. Finally, we may ask you to encourage Task/Annex meetings being hosted in Ireland.
