Project Description

Floating wind energy is a rapidly emerging industry. There is a need to focus on maximising the social, economic and environmental benefits of array scale deployments to ensure the long-term sustainability of the industry.

The objective of the IDEA-IRL project is to accelerate the sustainable development of Floating Offshore Wind Arrays (FOWA) both domestically and internationally. This will be achieved by building upon key background knowledge and by coordinating and leveraging of the international FOWA research effort under the framework of the supported IEA Task 49.
