Project Description

This project will explore how principles of justice and democracy influence the strategies, incentives and regulations to reduce carbon emissions from passenger vehicles in Ireland. The research will be conducted in multiple phases. The project will specifically examine how the public and private sectors use the concept of a 'just transition' to advance Ireland's decarbonisation goals. It will assess how these efforts relate to the ability and willingness of marginalised communities to engage in the low-carbon shift. In sum, the project aims to produce valuable resources for academics, public bodies, and policymakers to support a fair and inclusive transition to low-carbon transportation.
