Project Description

The WECHULL+ program will further investigate the viability of climate-optimized concrete buoyant devices for wave energy converter technology. The circularity of the use of recycled concrete will be tested alongside testing marine algae bio-binder as an alternative to cement. CETO Wave Energy Ireland will assist in this investigation through providing critical design parameters and wave energy technological expertise to the project. A scaled prototype of CETO Wave Energy Ireland’s CETO prime mover will be design and tested at partner PLOCAN’s test site. In addition, the WECHULL+ project will test materials from Ireland to validate the model across the Irish supply chain, furthering the benefits of this project and proving the versatility of the materials.
