To maintain a high quality of service and confidence in the BER and DEC systems, we carry out an ongoing system of auditing. This system is set out in the Quality Assurance System and Disciplinary Procedure.
Read our Quality Assurance and Disciplinary ProcedureWe require that you follow the Code of Practice. The Code sets out your obligations as an assessor, including maintaining minimum levels of insurance, acting in an independent manner, and providing details of the BER appointment in writing to your clients.
Non-domestic assessors may also use the Display Energy Certificate (DEC) Calculation Tool to produce DECs for public buildings. The DEC tool is issued to assessors on successful completion of a DEC Assessor Workshop.
