About the Large Industry Energy Network (LIEN)

LIEN membership

Over the past 30 years, LIEN has grown into one of the world's leading industrial energy networks. It now includes the majority of Ireland's large industrial companies. These organisations are committed to improving their energy performance and reducing emissions. 

LIEN has more than 200 active member companies. These companies employ over 140,000 people in Ireland and spend over €2.2 billion on energy annually. They account for 17% of Ireland's total primary energy requirement. The network plays a major role in delivering on Ireland's emission reduction targets.

Industry Decarbonisation Partnership (IDP)

Some of the largest and most ambitious LIEN members have been invited to join a new SEAI initiative, the Industry Decarbonisation Partnership. This partnership allows us to work even more closely with key large energy users in Ireland. It allows us to learn how large companies plan to decarbonise their energy and to identify the biggest barriers. The information we gather means we can better support all LIEN members.
