The Industrial Energy-Related Technologies and Systems (IETS) programme focuses on energy use across a broad range of industry sectors.
Executive Committee
The main objective of the IETS TCP is to foster international co-operation for accelerated research and technology development of industrial energy-related technologies and systems with its central focus on end-use technologies.
The IETS TCP Executive Committee Representatives for Ireland are Dr Damhnait Gleeson (SEAI) and Mr Cormac McCarthy (SEAI).

Damhnait Gleeson
Damhnait Gleeson
Dr Damhnait Gleeson is the Programme Manager for Industry Decarbonisation at the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland. A geologist and planetary scientist by training, she spent a decade in American and European Space Agencies (NASA-JPL in California and ESA-ESAC in Madrid) exploring the potential habitability of extraterrestrial environments before turning her attention to preserving the habitability of our own planet. For the last decade she has worked in climate and energy research funding, regulation, and policy development across the Irish public sector (SFI, CRU, SEAI) on renewables, sustainable development, energy markets, district heating, and industry decarbonisation at scale.

Cormac McCarthy
Cormac McCarthy
Cormac McCarthy is a graduate of University College Cork and has a background in science, with over 25 years’ experience in the Sustainability, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, and NGO sectors. Since joining the SEAI in 2021 Cormac has worked in the Business Supports department as a programme executive on the Excellence in Energy Efficient Design programme, has managed the SME Business Supports programme, and currently works as an executive on the Large Industry Energy Network team, supporting large industry with their decarbonisation pathways, optimising energy performance through electrification of industrial processes, and reducing Carbon emissions and operational costs. Cormac joined the SEAI as he is passionate about Ireland's Transition to a Low Carbon Energy Future – “Delivering Irelands Energy Revolution”.
