Register for the Solar PV Scheme
You must register with SEAI as a company or installer for the Solar PV Scheme. A registered company is the contracted entity by the applicant and a registered installer is the only person who can complete the Declaration of Works form.
Become a Registered Solar PV Installer
This grant, available to all homeowners, including landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2021, helps them to install Solar PV panels in the home to generate renewable electricity. Learn more here.
A registered installer to the Solar PV Scheme is the only person who is allowed to declare that the solar PV installation meets the scheme requirements. This is the person who signs the Declaration of Works for the applicant. A registered installer needs to have a recognised solar PV qualification and be a Registered Electric Contractor (REC) with Safe Electric Ireland, please see the registration form for more information.
Companies and installers are registered with SEAI to ensure tax and insurance compliance and on the basis of their commitment to installing the works in accordance with: the SEAI Domestic Technical Standards and Specification (DTSS) and adherence to the programme(s) Code of Practice and Quality Assurance and Disciplinary Procedures (QADP).
SEAI does not approve, guarantee or warranty a company/installer or their works.

How to apply
- Please complete and return the Solar PV Installer Registration Form
- Send your completed registration form and other requested documents,
including a. Solar PV Installer Declaration of Insurance of Insurance to SEAI - Complete the monthly Company and Installer Online Onboarding Training session. You will receive an invitation to this online monthly session by email once steps 1 and 2 above are successfully completed.
Notes:
Installers applying to re-register are also required to attend the online Onboarding Training session.
The Solar PV Company must ensure that for grant funded works, the homeowner has a related Solar PV application in place. Where there is no application in place SEAI are unable to pay a grant.
The system that is being installed on the day must match what is on the homeowner's Letter of Offer. If the homeowner wishes to increase the size of the array, they will need to contact the Solar PV Team at the SEAI before works commence, even up to the morning of the install. SEAI can only pay a grant for what is referenced in the Letter of Offer.

A registered company to the Solar PV Scheme is the contracted entity (a company or sole trader) whom the applicant can choose for their installation. The Company agrees to abide by the scheme(s) terms and conditions and to only use a registered Installer to the scheme(s) to complete the Declaration of Works for the applicant.
Companies and installers are registered with SEAI to ensure tax and insurance compliance and on the basis of their commitment to installing the works in accordance with the SEAI Domestic Technical Standards and Specification (DTSS) and adherence to the programme(s) Code of Practice and Quality Assurance and Disciplinary Procedures (QADP).

How to apply
- Complete and return the Solar PV Scheme Company Registration Form
- Complete and return the Solar PV Company Declaration of Insurance
- Your company must have at least one in-house SEAI registered installer. This must be an owner, director or must be a direct employee
- It is a requirement of the Solar PV Scheme that all registered companies have a Quality Management System in place to manage quality and delivery of service. Please provide documentary evidence of the following:
- Organisation Chart – key personnel/stakeholders, their roles and responsibilities, qualifications and training
- Evidence of document control processes
- Evidence of complaints process.
- Evidence of quality control processes
- Complete the monthly Company and Installer Online Onboarding Training session. You will receive an invitation to this online monthly session by email once steps 1-4 above are complete.
Notes:
Solar PV Scheme registration will be provisional for 6 months from the first install and subject to achieving a satisfactory inspections pass rate and a minimum number of 5 installations per year thereafter. Failure to meet these requirements may result in your deregistration from the scheme.
